Rae\'s Homemades is currently a small (1 person!) enterprise. I, Rachel "Rae", am in charge of making homemade treats to sell to willing (and hungry) customers. It\'s my passion and hobby to bake, and every time someone buys a cupcake or slice of a treat I\'ve made, it helps me reach further and try new things. Eventually, I would like to make "Rae\'s Homemades" into a full-time bakery/cafe, but it takes a lot of dedication, labor, and most of all, money.
My prices reflect not only the cost of ingredients, but the labor, electricity, water, and petrol it takes for me to provide them. It\'s easy to compare two cupcakes (for example, one of mine and a pre-packaged one from the shops), and say, "but they are both cupcakes! Why should I pay more?" The cupcake you buought at the shop was most likely made days or even a week or more before it reached your hands. The ingredients were most likely bought in bulk (which bakeries have access to), not to mention mixed, cooked, cooled, and frosted in huge kitchens with enough equipment to do dozens at a time. Oh, did I mention that they have dishwashers? ;)
Rae\'s Homemades products are made one batch at a time, using locally sourced ingredients and only the finest at that. I am very picky about the quality of my cakes and particular about my homemade frostings. Each batch of cake, cookie, cupcake, breads, etc. are all tried and trusted recipes that have been handed down to me from family and friends. I would never skimp on quality, because why would you?
I hope that I can continue to give you the best tasting, mouth-watering, ooey-gooey, heart-swelling goodness that my own teachers taught to me.
