Hadn’t been in this place in almost 15 years. A massive transformation from the “Coffeys” as I knew it. We were greeted by a friendly chap who showed us to our table in a tastefully decorated part of the restaurant. All staff we encountered were friendly and helpful, all also wore PPE. The food was delicious, both of my kids had an adult pizza each, they loved them, I tasted them and both were lovely. Both myself and my partner’s mains were very tasty. 3 of us had desserts, the kids had chocolate brownies and they were devoured, I had the crumble..... it was top class. I used to live a two minute walk from this place, I wouldn’t mind having it a two minute walk away now. Well worth a visit.

Stopped off in this pub for a bit of dinner on a Sunday afternoon.The food was of 5 star restaurant quality, the staff where so friendly and I’d highly recommend this pub to anyone. We will be back very soon!

Stopped with family on way back from holidays, excellent fish and chips, nicer than anywhere while staying in Waterford, Dunmore east tramore etc, nice green curry and choc bomb, wings might have been crispier but that’s my preference, would go back

Can’t fault the food ,however not great from a COVID-19 perspective as none of the staff wore mask at all and felt a bit uncomfortable as a result

Really nice location for some pub food, we visited the gastropub. Cant fault the co-vid regulations they have in place, staff were top class and everyone enjoyed their food, choices were from the hot wings, burgers and pizzas. One star off and a note to management the nachos were terrible, like something that cost €2 not nearly €16 to put together, mince cold, chips broken like crumbs, tiny amount of sauces. BUT that was the only disappointment will defo be back

Top quality food , friendly service , great covid safety measures. I saw the staff regularly cleaning door handles and toilets were sparkling clean . There were hand sanitising stations dotted throughout . We dined with our two toddlers and there were plenty of high chairs and a kids menu . I had the monkfish special which was exceptional . Super service and menu was varied. Will return .

Really good food ,and clean..eamon always looks after you,great menu too,very refreshing to see beef cooked as it should be mine was medium rare and melts in the mouth,portions are not massive,but we all like to watch our waistline.we had our works christmas party in there was also excellent

We had a lovely take out (sunday roast beef, burgers, carbonara, chicken wings). I rang at noon, arrived at the door at 1.15pm and everything was ready on time. brought home and the whole family really enjoyed. Highly recommended!

Had a lovely Valentine Meal at The Fox and Hare. Lovely food, with delicious home made desert. Really good value and great service by the lovely Emma. Will be back.

Excellent food never disappoints great atmosphere so lucky to have this place on our door step it's my sunday go to!! Even in a storm Denis power cut they still deliver great food and professional service

We had dinner here last night for my birthday, food was excellent, I had the thai curry, very tasty, my two companions had the smoked chicken tagliatelle, I'm a dessert person, and couldnt decide between the apple and berry crumble or Baileys cheese!! All homemade, I had the crumble in the end and it was amazing, Reasonably priced, and the wine was cool and delicious straight from the Vat,which I havent had before, also very reasonable.lovely cosy place to eat, and the staff were efficient and friendly.

Been to Cookes twice within the past 2 weeks, for lunch and dinner. Food was gorgeous both times, great quality and so tasty. Attention to details such as presentation are a lovely touch. Such a cosy area to sit and relax too. Will definitely be back again.

Delighted to celebrate our son's christening here, the ambiance and decor are warm abd inviting, the staff are efficient and friendly and the food is a cut above. We had to cancel our original booking at short notice and Éamon was really understanding and didn't look for a cancellation fee, something I really appreciated. All 25 of us thought the food was outstanding. All dishes came out fast and hot,kids meals had home cut chips, small touches that makes parents lives easier! I'm not usually a fan of dessert straight after dinner but these were delectable, rich chocolate brownies, tart cheesecakes, crunchy crumbles, nothing tasted too sugary, old school style, just what you want really! The wine is really tasty and comes in eco friendly glass carafes as opposed to bottles, a nice touch. It really is lovely to have this in the beautiful village of caragh.

We had a family christening party in Cookes for 30 people on sunday. I cant recommend it highly enough, food was excellent and very nicely presented. I agree with the earlier reviewer about the wings! Staff were friendly and helpful, we were there for over three hours and they couldn't do more for us
